Owned by the Brazilian bank Itau Unibanco, Hipercard is a long-standing and popular
Brazilian payment method. Unlike well-known international cards, Hipercard only supports
transactions in the local currency. To accept payments from Hipercard users, PSPs must
work with a specialist Latin-American acquirer.
